Between Shop and Video Camera – God's Peace in Montserrat
Hello dear friends,
Recently, I had the privilege of going on a journey that left a deep impression on me: I went to the LifeTeen European Training in Montserrat, Spain. Surrounded by rugged cliffs and within the walls of a monastery over 1,000 years old, hundreds of young people gathered to be trained for youth ministry in Europe.
Serving Behind the Scenes
My role that weekend was very practical and varied. I was wherever help was needed: I helped out in the shop and café bar, assisted with food service, and was responsible for the video camera during the main sessions.
A special highlight for me was being able to practice my Spanish there. In conversations with the locals, I was able to understand quite a bit, and it was a joy to have brief chats with people in the shop. It is fascinating how language opens doors when you are working together on a mission—no matter how small your vocabulary might be.
Inner Peace Despite Full Commitment
Although I was on my feet all day and rushing from one task to the next, I experienced something amazing. Often, with so much work, you end up feeling stressed, but this time God gave me a deep confidence and peace.
Before coming to Montserrat, my heart was often restless and full of questions. But there, in the midst of all the bustle and service, that restlessness faded away. God gave me a peace that didn't just last for the weekend, but continues to resonate in my heart to this day. He showed me: when I serve Him, He takes care of my soul.
A Contemplative Looking Back
Montserrat was a place of strength for me. I am returning to Vienna with renewed energy and a deep inner peace. This experience shows me once again: we can only give what we ourselves have received.
Thank you for making it possible for me to go on this journey. Your support not only enables mission outward, but also allows for these important phases of growth in my own faith life.
All my love and God's blessings,
Nici
